Charles Bradley's Posthumous Album 'Black Velvet' Due in November: See the Track List
The final album from the late soul legend features 10 never-released new tracks.
In celebration of the extraordinary life of Charles Bradley, Daptone's Dunham Records will release his fourth and final album Black Velvet on Nov. 9 -- four days after what would have been the singer's 70th birthday.
The material spans on Bradley's entire career, a fruit of the profound exploration through the corners of the soulful universe that the music legend and his longtime producer, co-writer and friend Tommy "TNT" Brenneck created in the studio together over their decade-long partnership.
The album features new songs recorded during the sessions from each of his three albums -- 2011 No Time For Dreaming, 2013 Victim of Love and 2016 Changes -- including tracks like the single "I Feel A Change", "Can't Fight the Feeling," "Fly Little Girl" and other funk rarities like "Luv Jones" and "(I Hope You Find) The Good Life". The record will also include exclusive covers of rock classics like Nirvana's "Stay Away" and Neil Young's "Heart of Gold".
On Sept. 23 of 2017, the soul great passed away from cancer, and as an ode to his undeniable influence in music, Black Velvet is a celebration of his life. Check out the album cover and track list below.
