Taylor Swift Meets 10-Year-Old Fan Suffering From Congenital Heart Defects: 'A Moment Never to Be Forgotten'
Taylor Swift made a 10-year-old girl's dream come true at her concert in Detroit on Tuesday (Aug. 28).
The young fan named Izzy, who suffers from heart defects, listens to Swift's music religiously and the songs help her get through the worst of pain, according to her mother's blog, which asked the pop star to make her show at Ford Field the best one yet for her daughter. Izzy has been in hospice since she was five years old and has undergone three open chest surgeries and seven heart catheterizations.
The blog post picked up traction across a multitude of local news stations, and Izzy ended up receiving meet-and-greet passes, which she was surprised with at the venue. Upon finding out about the surprise, "it really hit Izzy that she was going to meet Taylor Swift. Izzy was speechless. Floored. We have never, ever seen her this way. She freaked out completely," according to a follow-up post written by Izzy's mother.
"A moment never to be forgotten. Dreams really do come true!!!!" she wrote.
