The Gaslight Anthem are officially responding to reports of sexual harassment at their concerts, and they want attendees to know the pattern must stop.

The rock band, who most recently performed in Asbury Park, New Jersey, took to Twitter on Wednesday (Aug. 29) to address the issue in a string of messages. "We've been angered and saddened to hear reports of sexual assault and harassment in the audience at our shows," they wrote.

"This kind of abhorrent behavior can not and will not be tolerated at our shows. It's clear that this disturbing trend is on the rise in our industry, and that ignoring or dismissing the problem sends a very clear message to perpetrators that they can get away with their behavior."

The group also linked to Safe Gigs for Women, an organization that aims to create a safe environment for female concertgoers. See Gaslight Anthem's full message below.
