Jack White performs at the Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinnati on June 3, 2018.

Jack White treated workers at the Tesla factory in Fremont, Calif. to a free surprise concert on Friday, Aug. 17.

For those that were unable to attend, Tesla broadcasted the performance to employees from across the globe. Before hitting the stage, White explored Tesla’s factory space and took a ride in Tesla’s new Model 3 Performance vehicle on the company’s test track.

White, a self-professed fan of the automotive company, said that “what Tesla is doing is so important for the future of car design itself,” and stated that his support of the high-tech vehicles was the inspiration behind the concert.

Meanwhile, prior to the Tesla show, White made a tour stop at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, where he was visited by Tom Waits on Thursday, Aug. 16. On White’s Instagram, the two are seen together looking friendly, but according to the photo caption, Waits "made the musicians in the band confirm and pay testament to their love of the religion of music” and "stole Jack’s watch.”
