The horrors of half-heard, small talk-stuffed conference calls are expertly spoofed in “The Conference Call That Started It All,” an offering from the upcoming Bad Reception improvised sketch comedy collection. Even if the conference calls you’ve been privy to don’t involve politely tense disagreements over the shade of light blue to use, anyone who’s been on one can relate to the reality that there’s always someone who doesn’t understand how to put the phone on mute.

Created by Justin Michael and Eric Martin, Bad Reception is a 13-part improvised show out Aug. 21 on Audible featuring comedy pros like Paul F. Tomkins (Comedy Bang! Bang!), D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place), Kyle Mooney (SNL), Nicole Byer (Nailed It), Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Killing Eve), Lauren Lapkus (Crashing), Betsy Sodaro (Disjointed), Jessica McKenna (Comedy Bang! Bang!) and creators Michael and Martin.
