A new film is in the works based on a wild contest that gave a 20-year-old Sheridan, Wyoming hotel worker the opportunity to spend the day with music legend Prince. Elizabeth Banks will produce and star in the film, according to Deadline.

As promo for Prince's 1986 film, Under the Cherry Moon, MTV hosted the Win A Date With Prince contest, in which the 10,000th caller won a dream date with the icon. The studio also promised to premiere the film in the winner's hometown, along with a Prince concert. The film will focus on winner Lisa Barber and the Manhattan PR representative who led such a successful event.

Prince will not be played by an actor in the film, but his presence will be noted. Queen For a Day has no official release date yet.
