Cardi B Will Not Tour With Bruno Mars This Fall: 'I Underestimated This Whole Mommy Thing'
Back in February, Bruno Mars and Cardi B announced a number of joint North American performances which would serve as the final leg of Mars' massive 24K Magic world tour. Cardi was pregnant at the time, but since recently giving birth to baby Kulture, the rapper has pulled out of the gig.
She took to Twitter to announce the news Thursday (July 26), thanking her "Finesse" collaborator for all his support. "I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically," she wrote.
"I also thought that I'd be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing. Not only am I just not ready physically, I'm not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it's not healthy for her to be on the road."
The "That's What I Like" crooner also shared some kind words of support for the new mother. "I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing. I also know we'll share the stage when the time is right. We love you Cardi and we will play Bodak Yellow every night in your honor."
The tour was expected to kick off on September 7 in Denver and run through the end of October. See Mars' full message below.
