David Spade visited Good Morning America Wednesday morning (July 18) and opened up about his late sister-in-law, Kate Spade. “She was such a beautiful, lovely, great spirit,” Spade said.

David conveyed the family's struggles with coming to terms with the tragedy, and announced that he has made a generous donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness in her honor.

The fashion designer, 55, committed suicide last month.
