Lea Michele took to social media on Friday (July 13) to share a touching quote with fans on the fifth anniversary of Cory Monteith's death. Though the former Glee actress didn't name her late costar, the poignant message appears to be a tribute to someone she's lost.

"There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they've gone, the light remains," Michele posted along with a serene scene of a sun shining over the ocean.

Monteith passed away at 31 from a drug overdose on July 13, 2013, which shocked the Glee cast and fandom alike. Michele and Monteith -- who dated on screen as Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson (respectively) and in real life -- were in a relationship at the time of his death.

In 2015, Michele honored Monteith with a photo captioned, “today we remember the laughter and joy you brought in our lives every day,” and in 2016, she shared another with a sweet message, “I know every day you’re watching over me, and smiling.” Last year, Michele shared a picture of herself with Monteith, writing, "Hard to believe it's been 4 years... We miss you C... love you more."
