The iconic 1990s romantic comedy, Clueless, will be hitting the Off Broadway stage this November, and Cher Horowitz fans everywhere are rejoicing. One original cast member who is particularly excited is none other than Paul Rudd, who played Cher's ex-stepbrother and eventual love interest, Josh.

“I’m glad that it’s coming to the stage,” Rudd told Vanity Fair at the NYC premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp, on Wednesday (June 27). “It seems that a lot of films are making the transition to the stage, and I absolutely believe you can have a great show on Broadway be from a film. People look at Clueless fondly. I certainly think it would translate well.”

As for the scene he hopes will make the cut, the actor recalls the moment where Cher, Josh, and Cher’s dad, Mel whip out their flip phones at the same time during dinner when they hear a ring. “I remember thinking that was the most cutting-edge joke I had ever seen,” Rudd noted. “You look at it now and you laugh, but we didn’t have the Internet or social media when we made Clueless. That scene had never really been done at the time. I hope they keep it for [the] nostalgic feeling.”
