You can't help but be happy for vocal powerhouse Jordin Sparks and her husband, Dana Isaiah.

The two lovebirds welcomed their first child together, DJ (short for Dana Jr.) on May 2. After describing herself as being "a puddle on the floor" after becoming a mother, Sparks has laid low in the weeks since, enjoying her new little member of the family with Isaiah.

Sparks opened up to People magazine in this week's issue (June 29), and said husband Isaiah "handled [the birth] like a champ." The singer joked that "People have told me 'once you see your wife like that you can never change the image in your head,' but I was so excited about him actually coming that I was just like 'All right, come on! Come on!'"

Sparks revealed her decision process in choosing to have an all-natural birth at a birthing center near where she resides, in Los Angeles. "Hospitals just felt a little weird and strange [to me]. I had a feeling I wasn't going to be comfortable on my back and I didn't want to have to give birth that way," Sparks told People

Father Isaiah received the child, after being at Sparks' side during the labor. "He was right by me the whole time. When I was going to different places and different universes with the contractions, he was right there in my ear or rubbing my back," the "No Air" singer stated.

After Isaiah received the child, the happy couple "cried like little babies" according to Isaiah. Sparks gushed "He's just the sweetest little thing."
