Get to Know 'Hot Damn' Trio The Shadowboxers: Watch

In the latest installment of the “You Should Know” video series, Billboard sat down with “Nashville-by-way-of-Atlanta” trio The Shadowboxers to get to get to know a bit more about them.

The band, who describe their music as “soulful,” cite the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Tame Impala, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, The Bee Gees and Prince as their musical influences.

Asked what their first jobs ever were, Adam Hoffman reveals his was working for his neighbors “cleaning up horse poop,” while Matt Lipkins worked as an assistant to a Sunday school teacher and Scott Tyler worked as a landscaper…until he was fired.

“If a genie granted us a wish as a band,” says Hoffman, “Phil Collins would just join the band. No offense to our current drummer.” Lipkins, meanwhile, shows off his hidden talent of being able to cry very accurately like a baby.

The trio also divulges that some of their tour staples include hummus, fresh towels and clementines, while mentioning that they would love to collaborate with Calvin Harris and Haim one day.

The Shadowboxers chat about touring with Justin Timberlake, as well, stating that the best thing about being on the road with him is that they “get the opportunity and the pressure to open for objectively one of the greatest entertainers of all time.”
