Get to Know 'Yellow Lights' Singer Harry Hudson: Watch
Harry Hudson sat down with Billboard as part of the “You Should Know” video series to help fans get to know a little bit more about him. He revealed what his guilty pleasure is, who he would choose to play him in a movie and what the inspiration behind his album Yesterday's Tomorrow Night was.
Hudson, who would describe his music as “gargantuan,” says that while there are a “lot of places” that he grew up – both “mentally and physically” – he mostly grew up in Van Nuys, Calif.
Asked what the inspiration behind his album was, Hudson shares that it was “finding hope and finding love within myself. I was very depressed for a long time of my life until I was like, you know what? I’m gonna start living.”
“Cause I got diagnosed with cancer when I was 20,” he continues, “and I was just very confused with my life and I wanted to live a life true to myself. I didn't love myself at the time, so the album and everything is just very important and it’s just light and it’s just searching for happiness in this life and being present in the moment now.”
The singer, who is also best friends with Kylie Jenner, tells Billboard that the best advice she has ever given him is to “just go do it. Do it big, or don’t do it never.”
If he could collaborate with any artist, Hudson says that he would love to put Cardi B and Bruce Springsteen on a song together, while if a genie could grant him one wish, it would be to have a four-hour conversation with the “Bodak Yellow” rapper.
In the video, which you can watch in full above, you can find out much more about Harry Hudson, including his biggest guilty pleasure (neck kisses and foot massages), who would play him in a movie (he opts for Woody from Toy Story) and much more.
