Bhad Bhabie Explains How She Made 'Gucci Flip Flops,' Gushes Over Lil Yachty: Watch

Danielle Bregoli (aka Bhad Bhabie) stopped by the Billboard offices to share the story of how “Gucci Flip Flops” -- her collaboration with Lil Yachty and her third single to hit the Billboard Hot 100 -- came to life as part of the “How It Went Down” video series.

“I feel like it’s like a turn-up song, a little bit. Just like in the car with your friends,” she shares. “We made the hook and then we went and I did the verse. It didn’t really take that much, I cut it really, really fast cause I really liked it, so I kinda just…figured out how I was gonna say it.”

Bregoli explains that her favorite lyric in the song is “Know why these bitches mad/'Cause they trash and they fuckin' for cash” because, she says with a laugh, “It’s true.”

After she cut her hook and verse, Bregoli called Lil Yachty and told him she wanted to put him on the song, so he asked her to send it to him. A day later, he told her to meet him at the studio where he was working with Lil Baby. “He just went in and did his verse,” Bregoli says. “I just wanna keep Yachty forever, just take him home with me.”

The rapper also chats about the 50s-themed music video, revealing that while Yachty wasn’t there for the shoot and filmed his part from Atlanta, she really enjoyed working with David Spade who made a cameo in it. “That was pretty funny,” she shares, “Me and him just kind of improv back and forth.”
