Well, at least they'll always have the Met Gala.
After Hailey Baldwin and Shawn Mendes hit fashion's fancy night out together and shocked fans with their red carpet chemistry, the model and television personality has nixed the prospect of a budding romance with the "In My Blood" singer.
In an interview with the U.K.'s Sunday Times, Baldwin mentions her Met Gala date and clarifies that their black tie date wasn't a normal night out for the non-couple.
"We hang out and he's super-lovely and a very, very nice young gentleman," she told the Times. "But I am single... The dating pool is small. It's rare to find somebody that has the same ideas and morals as me. I have found people like that before, though, which is refreshing."
Mendes had confirmed that he's single as well in an interview with E! News shortly before the publication of Baldwin's interview. "The Met Ball was such an incredible experience for me," he told E! News in a clip posted on Friday (May 25.) "It was just overwhelming in the most incredible way. I was so lucky for my first time going there to be able to go with someone like Hailey because she's such a vet and I really admire people like her because of how outgoing she is in such an overwhelming experience."
So, there you have it: Baldwin and Mendes are both single, adore each other and value their friendship. (Especially when it involves formalwear.)
