Starting today, Dierks Bentley and Apple Music are partnering for a four-part video series taking listeners on a journey through the creation of his ninth studio album, The Mountain, out June 8.

In addition to new music, each episode includes stories submitted by country music fans chronicling their resilience and strength as they tackle challenges.

In this exclusive sneak peek of the first episode, Daniel Foley, who was running the 2013 Boston Marathon when the bomb exploded near the finish line where his family was waiting for him, details his decision to return to run the marathon again despite tremendous trepidation. His story is interspersed with footage of Bentley and his band playing the album’s title track high atop a mountain in Colorado.

“The people I meet on the road who are climbing their own personal mountains unknowingly inspired this album,” Bentley told Billboard. “Their stories are powerful and raw, but there is always a sense of resilience and hope. Those feelings are the foundation of this album to me.”

Apple will roll out a new episode every two weeks. The album is available for pre-order on the site starting today here

Bentley will perform the album’s first single, “Woman, Amen,” at the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night.
