RZA has officially responded to U-God’s comments in his memoir RAW: My Journey Into the Wu-Tang Clan. In the book, RZA  is accused of not properly managing the group.

“Right now, it just looks like the Wu brothers are not on the same page, going at each other’s throats, missing shows, and all that. But, to me, it’s really years of BS catching up to RZA,” U-God wrote in the memoir.

More specifically, the Wu-Tang member called RZA a “control freak,” adding that he “wanted to control budget, publishing, writing hooks, everything.”

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, RZA responded to the allegations, saying, “I could never be a control freak.”

“If Wu-Tang is a dictatorship, how does every Wu-Tang member have their own contract, their own career and have put out more albums without me than they’ve done with me?” he continued.

RZA did, however, end the interview showing love for the group member. “I’m happy because I’ve watched a couple of U-God’s interviews and he seems engaged and happy and satisfied, and that’s what an artist needs.”
