Midway through the show, Ed Sheeran delivered an incredibly raw performance of “Supermarket Flowers” from his album Divide at the 38th annual Brit Awards.

The singer, who is always a favorite at the Brit Awards, delivered a vulnerable, tear-jerking rendition of the touching song, only accompanied by a piano, guitar and eventual backup vocals from a choir.

The song, which includes lyrics like “When God took you back he said hallelujah,” is one of the more emotional cuts from his wildly successful album Divide, which came out last March. He revealed in an interview with Zane Lowe that the song is about his grandma getting ill and passing away during the making of the album.

The singer is up for four awards at the show, including album of the year. Check out the rest of the live stream below to see who takes home what.
