The cast and crew of Dancing with the Stars: Live! are recovering after a fatal car crash in Iowa on Monday (Feb. 5) due to severe weather.

According to Des Moines, Iowa local news station KCCI 8, one person was killed and five more were taken to the hospital in the accident involving up to 70 cars. In a statement posted on the show's Instagram, representatives said the cast and crew are safe with only a few minor injuries.

"Given this unforeseen accident, and the fact that the safety and health of our cast and crew is of the utmost importance, tonight's show at Stephens Auditorium in Ames, Iowa, has been canceled," the statement said. "To anyone involved in the accident, the entire cast sends their best wishes for a speedy recovery, and their deepest apologies to all of the fans who have been waiting to see the show tonight."
