Stefan Blom is leaving his post as Spotify’s chief content officer in the coming weeks, the streaming service confirms to Billboard.

His departure comes as Spotify gears up for a public listing, for which it filed paperwork in December. Spotify didn’t give a reason for his exit. Blom is Swedish but has been based in New York.

“We are grateful for Stefan’s many contributions to the company over the years and we wish the very best. Looking ahead, the content team is well positioned to execute on our strategy,” Spotify said in a statement.

Spotify now counts 70 million paying subscribers, but its losses have ballooned along with its revenue in recent years. As a publicly traded company it will face more pressure to turn a profit going forward, analysts say.
