There are very few people in the United States who would like to be compared to Donald Trump in our current political climate. And as it turns out, Justin Guarini is not one of those rare sorts.

American Idol’s first ever runner-up responded to a troll on Twitter, who compared Guarini’s 2002 second place finish to Donald Trump’s loss in the popular vote. Guarini, who remains gracious about his loss to Kelly Clarkson a decade and a half ago, had a fun and inventive proposition of torture for the Twitter user.

As of now, Guarini has made a big-time name for himself on the Broadway stage, appearing in Wicked, American Idiot and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and is currently starring in the first a capella musical In Transit. So it seems as though Guarini is rising above that reality TV show loss, as well as online Trump trolls.
