The 11 dates will follow the April 17 release of the band's third full-length album on V2, "Just Enough Education To Perform."
The album is Stereophonics' first since 1999's quintuple-platinum "Performance And Cocktails," and features the single "Mr. Writer," which recently debuted at No. 5 on the U.K. singles chart. There are no plans as of yet to release "Mr. Writer" as a single in the U.S., although the video for the track recently debuted on MTV.
The band has had trouble breaking through in the U.S., where the globally successful "Performance And Cocktails" sold a mere 36,000 copies, according to SoundScan. But they have been very active in the States of late, including a February acoustic tour, during which frontman Kelly Jones appeared onstage with the Black Crowes in New York.
Stereophonics just wrapped up a short U.K. tour and will be opening five dates of the European leg of U2's "Elevation" tour in July and August. The band is also planning to host two U.K. festival dates under the moniker "A Day At The Races," on July 14 at Donington and July 21 at Chepstow; Ash and the Black Crowes will support. An appearance at London's annual T In The Park festival July 7-8 is also confirmed. For a full itinerary, see the band's official Web site.
