A shocking article published on Monday (Oct. 16) by The New Yorker claims that in a meeting with a legal scholar in which the subjects of abortion and gay rights came up, Pres. Trump pointed to V.P. Mike Pence and said, "Don't ask that guy - he wants to hang them all!"

The piece takes a look at the relationship between the No. 1 and 2 in the White House, focusing in on Trump's tendency to mock Pence over his strict right-wing religious views on issues such as abortion and gay rights.

The piece also notes that Trump enjoys teasing Pence about his desire to overturn the landmark Roe V. Wade decision legalizing abortion, reportedly mocking the former Indiana Gov. during a meeting with a legal scholar about how if the Supreme Court overturned the 1973 ruling, many blue states would just vote to legalize abortion on their own. "You've wasted all this time and energy on it, and it's not going to end abortion anyway," Trump reportedly told Pence.

The revelation of the latest shocking statement from the president drew a swift, horrified response from a number of artists and human rights organizations.

At press time Trump had not tweeted a response to the article.
