In advance of his new film Stronger, Jake Gyllenhaal posted a Facebook video with Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman -- whom Gyllenhaal plays in the movie -- for a brief Q&A. What sets itself up to be a serious back-and-forth immediately turned into the two trading hilarious barbs at each other and, as is the natural order of things, Gyllenhaal’s ex Taylor Swift

“If you lost your legs in real life, do you think Taylor Swift would write a song about it?” Bauman asked Gyllenhaal. “For you -- like a country song?”

“She sort of moved more into pop now,” Gyllenhaal deadpanned. Well, it was worth an ask anyway.

This isn't the first time the history between Swift and the Gyllenhaal family has come back around as of late. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy CohenMaggie Gyllenhaal said she was “in the dark about about the scarf” that is referenced in Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well.” The 2012 song features the lyrics “left my scarf there at your sister’s house/and you still got it in your drawer even now” and has been widely believed by Swift fans to be a jab at Maggie.

While Bauman doesn’t get to the bottom of this “Legless Jake” song idea, he proudly stands in as the voice of the people by drilling Gyllenhaal with questions you’ve always wanted to ask the star, such as, “you ever thought about doing a good movie?”
