Nick Jonas decided to celebrate the release of his relatively understated new single “Find You” with an intimate performance The Peppermint Club in Los Angeles, Calif. on Thursday night (Sept. 14).
Taking the stage for a brief five-song set, the 24-year-old emerged with a full backing band -- a keyboardist, bassist, guitarist, drummer and two singers -- for a 30-minute whirlwind that blew through some of his biggest hits and a look forward with his latest.
“Thank you all for coming out it’s an exciting day, it’s an exciting night,” said Jonas, who flew in from Montreal that morning and dressed casually in an opened camouflage buttondown over a white tee and a wide-brimmed hat. “It’s one of those things where you spend so much time writing a song, making a body of work, and what you do in the creative process is all about trying to be as honest as you can be. I had a few people who really helped me get to that place so I’ve got to shout out my manager Phil McIntyre, always helping me get to a place where I’m honest and telling my stories in a way that hopefully connects with all of you. And the second piece to it is you guys, the fans, elevating me to a place where years into this journey solo now, I feel like I could still take that step and take big risks, so thank you to all of you.”
