The Black Crowes/Oasis Tour of Brotherly Love wraps tonight (June 11) in Mansfield, Mass., but after a host of European festival and headlining appearances throughout July, the Crowes will return for a North American theater tour, beginning in late August or early September. Upcoming international dates, including several with Neil Young and Stereophonics, begin June 22 in Wohlen, Switzerland, and run through late July.
The Crowes are touring in support of their V2 debut, "Lions," which entered The Billboard 200 at No. 20 last month. A two-part commercial single for the track "Soul Singin'," featuring the previously unreleased B-sides "Sleepyheads," "Love is Now," and "Last Time Again," is set for a July 16 release in the U.K. First single "Lickin'" is No. 17 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart this week.
Over the course of three shows last weekend at New York's Radio City Music Hall, the Crowes went heavy on cuts from "Lions," but sprinkled in a handful of more obscure tracks from earlier albums. Among the surprises were "Evil Eye" from 1996's "Three Snakes & One Charm" as well as "Descending" and "Gone," both from 1994's "Amorica."
