There's nothing people love more than an unexpected friendship. This week, designer Donatella Versace broadcast her budding friendship with Bruno Mars in an endearing Instagram video.

In a tribute to Mars' two multi-platinum singles from his latest album 24K Magic and his current tour, the video blasts the chorus of "Versace on the Floor," which was inspired by the Italian fashion house.

The short video is replete with familiar faces, including models Candice Swanepoel and Adrian Chabada and Versace herself, who all lip-sync to the catchy tune and dance in extravagant clothes from the designer.

Versace captioned the post: "To my special friend."

After first meeting at the 2012 Met Gala, where Mars wowed Versace with his performance, the designer has dressed the singer for countless appearances, including his Super Bowl halftime show, his acceptance speech at the 2015 VMAs and numerous music videos.

The two don't shy away from showcasing their admiration for each other. After their first meeting, Versace said, "I fell in love with Bruno. He is like an explosion on the stage, so energetic and so totally natural." Mars reciprocated the affection by shouting out the designer before performing "Versace on the Floor" at his show in Milan that the designer attended. "I would like to dedicate this next song to the woman who actually inspired me: Donatella, this is for you," he said.

Versace continued the conversation on Instagram, where she posted a clip of his performance, with a caption underneath that read, "Thank you for tonight! What a great emotion."
