Louis Tomlinson said he's "back in touch" with former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik, in an interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM's Radio Andy channel earlier this week.

The reconciliation was reportedly inspired by Tomlinson's late mother, who died in December from leukemia. Cohen noted in the interview that one of her final wishes was for the two to reunite after a Twitter feud in 2015 soured the relationship. Tomlinson confirmed the two singers are now on speaking terms.

"We got back in touch with each other and kind of cleared the air and talked everything through," he told Cohen. "We're mates again, I suppose, yeah."

When Cohen pressed him on his use of the word "suppose," Tomlinson clarified that their relationship will "take time, but it was nice that we had an opportunity to clear the air and kind of be adults about it, I suppose."
