Tyler, the Creator officially premiered his new single "Ain't Got Time" on Beats 1 radio with Zane Lowe on Wednesday (July 19), but the single has been stirring speculation since his upcoming album Scum Fuck Flower Boy was leaked online earlier this month.

A verse beginning with "Next line will have 'em like 'Whoa'/ I've been kissing white boys since 2004" is embedded among the song's pulse-thumping bass and tingling synths. Though easily missed by a distracted listener, the line was pointed enough to incite rumors that Tyler's fourth studio album would be his "coming out" project.

Tyler created the jarring, adrenaline-inducing beat -- a combination of drum and synth effects with a looped sample from Deee-Lite's "Groove Is in the Heart"-- at Kanye West's studio during the recording of 'Ye's 2016 album The Life of Pablo. According to Tyler, when West left to take a nap, Tyler told the sound engineer to start recording. "I just start smacking, start clapping, start making weird noises, and then added a 'boom-boom-boom' like that," he told Lowe. "I was like, damn, Kanye should take this song, he would sound so much cooler saying 'I ain't got time' than me. He didn't like it."

After Kanye passed on the song, Tyler combined the hook and "weird noises" with the Deee-Lite sample, and the psychedelic single was born. The rapper faced another setback, however, when he reached out to Nicki Minaj multiple times to contribute a verse. Minaj told Tyler she "'couldn't think of nothin'."

"How the f--- do you hear this beat and can't f---ing think of shit?" Tyler said to Lowe in disbelief.

Nevertheless, the single is perhaps made more unique with just Tyler's raspy voice integrated with the titillating barrage of sounds. With or without the added intrigue caused by the leaked lyric, the single so far appears to be a memorable addition to the rapper's fourth studio album, set to be released Friday.
