AFI's Davey Havok Tells of His Pants-Splitting 'Worst Fashion Failure' at Firefly Fest 2017

Ever had an embarrassing wardrobe failure? Fear not, because it can't be as bad as Davey Havok’s experience.

Billboard caught up with the AFI singer backstage at Firefly Festival, where he fessed up about his most awkward moment.

“My worst fashion failure was when I wore tight PVC pants and I had a show in Eugene, Oregon…my pants split down the center. And I didn’t know. And I felt a chill during the set and didn’t know why,” he recalls. “I was fully exposed, frontally, and the audience members at the front saw and they laughed, and I laughed.”

Nasty. So did he run and hide, or dig a deep hole (and jump in)? Nope. Havok “turned around and tucked back in and stretched the shirt out, kept going.” That’s how it’s done.

AFI is currently touring the U.S. in support of the alternative rockers' The Blood Album. The band then heads to Australia this September for a bunch of dates, their first in that market in more than 10 years.
