Hotly tipped U.K. rock act Starsailor will begin its first U.S. tour Dec. 2 in Boston. Five major-market club dates follow, as does a Dec. 11 appearance on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien." On Jan. 11, the group returns to North America for 13 support dates with fellow U.K. rock brethren the Charlatans. The shows come in support of Starsailor's Capitol debut, "Love Is Here," due Jan. 8 in North America.
The set debuted at No. 2 in the U.K. last month and includes the top-20 singles "Good Souls" and "Fever," as well as the No. 10 hit "Alcoholic." "Good Souls" is headed to U.S. radio outlets the coming weeks; a headlining tour of North America is in the works for March.
Singer/guitarist James Walsh told Billboard earlier this year that promoting "Love Is Here" in North America is a top priority. "We're gonna work hard [in the U.S.]," he said. "Too often, British bands thought they could break internationally from England, thinking they could go over to America for a week and do a couple of shows and everyone would go mad and that would be it. We're prepared to put the hard work in."
