Take a Lorde song, cover it with nothing more than a mic and an acoustic guitar and deliver it live to the Kiwi’s homeland. It’s a challenge as slippery as a bunch of banana peels dunked in baby oil. Step on up, Amy Shark.

The rising Australian singer and songwriter tackled Lorde’s “Green Light” for New Zealand’s The Edge radio station, and pulled it off without injury to ego or body.

Covering the lead single from the star's upcoming album Melodrama was next-level terrifying, Shark later admitted. “Naturally I was shitting myself playing a Lorde song in the country she owns," she wrote on Twitter.

Shark's career is going swimmingly. The Gold Coast muso’s haunting hit “Adore” came in at No. 2 on Triple J’s most recent Hottest 100 poll (behind Flume’s “Never Be Like You”) and she collected three trophies at last month’s Queensland Music Awards, including the coveted song of the year.
