"Know you're watching me, I feel your spirit."

Usher took to Instagram on Wednesday (March 29), paying homage to his late stepson Kile Glover on what would have been his 16th birthday.

The post showed a smiling Kile with the caption: “Though you’re gone you still live in my mind. The only thing we ran out of is time. Since you left I ain’t been quite the same. I wonder if you miss me, do I make you proud. Know you’re watching me, I feel your spirit. I keep you right by my side. #Stronger Happy 16th Birthday, Kile$. We miss you.”

Glover -- the son of the singer’s ex-wife, Tameka Foster -- died in 2012 after a jet-skiing accident on Lake Lanier in Georgia. In March 2014, Usher’s family friend Simon Hubbard was found guilty of homicide by vessel in Glover's death, as well as serious injury by vessel and unlawful operation of a personal watercraft. Hubbard was sentenced to four years of prison, followed by 15 years of probation.
