Barack Obama Pays Tribute to Chuck Berry

President Barack Obama paid tribute to late rock 'n' roll pioneer Chuck Berry with a commemorative tweet Sunday morning (March 19).

“Chuck Berry rolled over everyone who came before him -- and turned up everyone who came after. We'll miss you, Chuck. Be good,” Obama wrote.

Berry died Saturday at the age of 90.

Obama wasn’t the only president to honor Berry over the weekend. President Bill Clinton, along with Secretary Hillary Clinton, also honored the rock legend.

“He made our feet move and our hearts more joyful. And along the way he changed our country and the history of popular music,” the power couple wrote in a statement.

During his storied career, the legendary singer/songwriter's revolutionary sound and hits like “Maybellene,” “Roll Over Beethoven,” “Memphis,” “My Ding-a-Ling," “Sweet Little Sixteen" and “Johnny B. Goode” inspired many, and had a profound impact on the Billboard charts.
