Weezer is bringing the summer early. The alternative rock veterans are back and they're busy with a new track, “Feels Like Summer,” and news of late night TV slots and a tour which runs through the northern summer and wraps with rare European shows this fall.

Written by Rivers Cuomo, “Feels Like Summer” is the first recording shared from Weezer's forthcoming 11th album, which is due to arrive -- you guessed it -- sometime this summer. The as-yet-unnamed new LP is the followup to their Grammy-nominated self-titled set, the so-called White Album which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 last year.

“Feels Like Summer” is old-school Weezer with a fresh twist. “I'm holding on and I don't want to let you go/Yeah it feels like summer/Yeah it feels like summer to me,” sings Cuomo in a song seeping with punchy-pop hooks, delayed guitars, drops and a chunky beat.

In support of the new LP, Weezer is booked to play "Summer" this coming Tuesday (March 21) for the first time on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and they'll embark on a tour of Europe this October, their first since 2005.

The newly-announced live dates will take Weezer to Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the U.K., with a tour closer pencilled in for Oct. 27 at London’s Wembley Arena. Earlier, the group will hit the road for concerts and festival slots across the U.S., including a pair of shows later this week at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
