Demi Lovato arrives at the 59th annual Grammy Awards at the Staples Center on Feb. 12, 2017 in Los Angeles.

Demi Lovato is celebrating an amazing personal milestone: She has been sober for five years as of Wednesday (March 15).

The singer posted an Instagram photo documenting her journey with a heartfelt message expressing her gratitude and pride for making it this far.

Lovato checked into rehab in 2010 for three months after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She has since been an activist for mental health and encourages self-love to her fans through her music. “Skyscaper” -- the first single she released after opening up about her struggles -- reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2011.

Her latest album, Confident, reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in November 2015.
