Some unearthed interview footage of Frank Ocean was released Monday (Feb. 13) on Twitter via the fan account TeamFrankDaily.

While the source of the interview is unclear, Ocean discusses his inspiration and motivation in the making of his latest album, Blonde.

“I haven’t shied away from expectations,” Ocean says while sitting on a stool in an echoing white room. He continues, “I really try to use it as fuel because people have a positive association of what I do and what I make and they expect something that’s good. So, okay, how do you convert that into, I don’t know, just a better moment, a better song, a better album, a better presentation?”

Blonde, which was released in August 2016, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album has generated 404 million on-demand audio streams for its songs in the U.S. through Feb. 9, according to Nielsen Music. The set has earned 620,000 equivalent album units, of which 348,000 are in traditional album sales.
