Friends & Former 'Spin' Colleagues Remember Late Writer Marc Spitz
Music journalist Marc Spitz, who died last week at age 47, is remembered in a series of touching tributes on Spin.com. A longtime writer for the magazine, whose website is owned by Billboard's parent company, Spitz also contributed to such publications as Rolling Stone, Maxim, Nylon, Vanity Fair, New York Magazine, TV Guide and The New York Times.
The author of several books -- We Got the Neutron Bomb: The Untold Story of L.A. Punk (2001), the autobiographical Poseur: A Memoir of Downtown New York City in the '90s, (2013) -- he was also credited as a writer or producer on dozens of off-Broadway plays.
