Update: On February 2, WWD reported that The Yeezy Season 5 show had been rescheduled to 3 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. on February 15 as previously scheduled. “Kanye called me personally to let me know that he had no intention of showing on top of another designer, and was unaware that there was a conflict,” Steven Kolb said in a statement. Initial report below.

Shortly following Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 5 show announcement – which is slated to run in collaboration with Adidas on Feb. 15 at Pier 59 Studios – the CFDA has expressed concerns. According to a WWD exclusive, West didn’t consult the CFDA about his 5pm time slot which has already been booked by high-end womenswear brand Marchesa.

“As the scheduler of the week, the CFDA works with more than 300 brands to identify appropriate times for them to show their collections and avoid scheduling conflicts,” CDFA president and chief executive officer of CFDA Steven Kolb told WWD. “Not going through the proper channels is disruptive to the whole week and unfair to designers who have secured spots through the formal procedure.”

Though Kolb has confirmed the CFDA are not listing Yeezy Season 5 on the official NYFW schedule, they’re willing to work with West on securing a more appropriate time slot. Still, Kolb made it known that West’s neglect was unacceptable “bad behavior” that “should not be tolerated by the industry.”

Furthermore, a source close to the situation tells Billboard that the CFDA’s statement is “totally false.”
