Comedian Samantha Bee will not be attending the White House Correspondents Dinner this spring. Turns out, she will be throwing her own party that night.

According to The Associated Press, the host of TBS’ Full Frontal said she will invite journalists and “non-irritating celebrities” to her event, humorously titled Not the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The idea came about when Bee and her staff mourned in the wake of November’s election. Since the annual fundraiser is traditionally highlighted by the journalists’ roast of the commander in chief, they wondered what the event will be like with an administration so opposed to the media. Probably not much roasting will take place.

Bee said she has no intention to undermine the real Correspondents Dinner, which donated more than $100,000 in scholarships to students. Instead, she hopes to celebrate deserving journalists and have a good time.

The Not the White House Correspondents Dinner will take place at Washington’s Willard Hotel on April 29 and will be televised on TBS. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Committee to Protect Journalists.
