Ellen DeGeneres Bids Emotional Farewell to Obama: Watch
For the final day of Barrack Obama’s presidency on Jan. 19, Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Ellen DeGeneres paid tribute to the progressive achievements of America’s first black president with a touching video compilation from the past eight years.
As a longtime friend and twice appearing guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Obama’s positive impact on DeGeneres’ life was evident in her sentimental POTUS speech. “I want to personally thank him for changing my life. I am a legally married woman because of him and so is my wife. His courage and compassion created equality for everyone.”
In classic DeGeneres fashion, the heartbreaking end of an era was imbued with hilarity, including photoshopped footage of Obama dancing, First Lady Michelle Obama in a push up contest and even a cameo from one of the Obama family dogs, Bo.
