Kim Kardashian's Parisian Limo Driver Among Those Arrested in Sweep: Report

A day after a massive sweep that rounded up 17 suspects in the October armed robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris, news emerged that the social media star's Parisian limo driver and his brother were among those arrested. According to French newspaper Le Monde, a man identified as a driver from an upscale private limousine company often used by the Kardashians while in Paris, the last person known to have driven the Keeping up with the Kardashians star around town before the jewelry heist.

Paris police confirmed to E! News that the 27-year-old limo driver was the last one to ferry Kardashian around before the Oct. 3 incident and that he would have known where she was headed that night. Authorities -- who have 96 hours to either charge the suspects or release them -- are trying to determine if the chauffeur passed along information to the rest of the gang.

Le Monde also revealed that the average age of those arrested was 55 -- with the oldest 72 and the youngest 23 -- and that a number are seasoned criminals with records for crimes including drug trafficking and counterfeiting. After weeks of combing through CCTV camera footage from neighboring businesses, investigators became convinced that the thieves tried to conceal some of the estimated $11 in jewels in Antwerp, Belgium, one of the hubs of the world's diamond trade. Two of the perpetrators in custody were reportedly seen by police visiting that city before their arrest. Of the 17 suspects, 14 are men and three are women.

According to an RTL report, the thieves had such colorful nicknames as "Omar le vieux" (Omar the Old) and "Mimi la boule" (Mimi the Ball).

Though there was no surveillance video in the hotel, police used a number of recordings in the area around the building, allowing them to spot some of the thieves who fled on bicycle, carrying some of the loot in a plastic bag. Five men took part in the attack, with three holding up the hotel's night porter and the other two entering the luxury apartment the reality star was renting during her stay. DNA was also reportedly found on the materials used to tie up Kardashian and a diamond cross pendant found the next day on the street that was apparently dropped by the gang as they fled.
