Kiesza Debuts First-Ever MAC Cosmetics Collaboration: Exclusive
Fresh off the release of her sophomore album's debut single, "Dearly Beloved," (Jan. 6) singer-songwriter Kiesza has another major announcement: she will be launching a four-piece capsule collection with MAC Cosmetics. The singer will join the ranks of Ellie Goulding, Miley Cyrus, and pop diva Mariah Carey, who also have had collections with the makeup brand.
The collaboration, which is available online and in stores on Feb. 2, was a year-long process that felt "organic" for the Canadian electro-pop artist, who at the time was experimenting with a lighter nude lipstick versus her usual red. After a few meetings discussing ideas and how current colors could be enhanced, the singer ultimately narrowed down her palette to two signature neutral-toned lip products.
The partnership reflects Kiesza's new understated look. "Dearly Beloved" is a warm, soft brown matte lipstick ($17) and Thunder Kiss is a deep chocolate pigmented lipgloss ($21.) Liquidlast Liner in Point Black ($21) and Big Brow pencil in Cork ($21)--both a part of the permanent collection--help to finish off the look.
"If I'm going to wear something every day I don't want to change my face; I want to enhance my personality," Kiesza says of her signature beauty approach, noting the collection's "Dearly Beloved" is perfect for that understated look. To add more drama, Kiesza thickens and elongates her winged eyeliner, uses "Thunder Kiss" and occasionally goes with a darker eyebrow pencil shade.
"I love eyebrows and feel they frame your face giving your eyes a whole new look. When I thicken mine, my eyes look more intense which helps bring the whole look together," she adds.
