"Egos get in the way; everyone wants a say," the New Year's Rockin' Eve co-host tells Billboard.

The ins and outs of girl group Fifth Harmony, who parted ways with founding member Camila Cabello on Dec. 19, are still on people's minds as Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017 hosts Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy demonstrated to Billboard on New Year's Eve eve.

"I have a feeling they will be back," said McCarthy. "Every group takes a little bit of a break."

McCarthy, who is married to New Kids On the Block member Donnie Wahlberg, would know something about the subject. "Egos kind of get in the way; everyone wants a say on their own creativity; and they need to break out and do their thing," she said. "Then they come back [when] they realize 'I need to get paid.' "

"They want the good table at the restaurant, too," Seacrest cracked, adding, "We are excited to have Fifth Harmony, who have had an incredible year. They've been doing it for a while, and this was really a breakout time for them."

The five girls, who reportedly pre-taped their appearance, will perform on the 2017 edition of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. The special airs New Year's Eve at 8 p.m. on ABC and also features Gloria EstefanDNCE and Mariah Carey.
