American Idol Season 14 winner Nick Fradiani is getting back to basics with a new video for his song, "All on You," in an exclusive premiere for Billboard.

The video -- shot in black and white by Beach Avenue bandmate and drummer, Ryan Zipp -- shows off the Connecticut singer in his natural habitat, as he sits center stage with just an acoustic guitar.

"We decided we wanted it to let people see me for what it is just sitting on a stage and playing acoustic," he tells Billboard. "There wasn’t a big plot to it like in my other videos. I wanted it to be simple and how the song was written.  I like how it came out. We had a good time. This is kind of the real, more natural me, doing what I like to do."

The song -- written in Nashville with fellow collaborators Jordan Schmidt and Andy Albert -- was one of the later songs written before the Idol alum completed his debut record, Hurricane, via Big Machine Records. Fradiani was introduced to Schmidt after meeting Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line, who served as a mentor on Idol. The two hit it off, and began writing together, and came up with the song -- a perfect marriage of Fradiani's singer-songwriter background and R&B sensibilities.

"It’s a breakup song and I really fell in love with the acoustic guitar riff that was written by Mitchell Tenpenney, who was in the studio," he says. "It’s a cool song and it’s been doing really well. Ryan Seacrest has been playing it on America’s Top 40 every Sunday. That’s pretty sweet. It’s catching some steam.”

The new video is an extra bonus for fans itching to see more of the Guilford, Connecticut native, who has actively been recording cover songs for his YouTube channel. A recent one, featuring his father Nick Fradiani Sr. on piano as the two cover Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," is a hit after just two days on the web.

"That one is going crazy now," he says. "I guess I got to have my Dad in more videos."

2017 has plenty in store for the singer. At the moment, he is looking into tour dates, either opening for another act or playing additional gigs solo. Plus, he is back in the studio working on new material for his next record, which he hints will be a more "organic" return to the music he was making with Beach Avenue. A new song written with the group's guitarist Nick Abraham, "We Live Forever," got a warm reaction at a recent show at Mohegan Sun.

In the mean time, Fradiani will release his next single, "Love is Blind," in January, with a video to follow around Valentines Day. In the meantime, watch the "All on You" visual below:
