'American Idol' Alum Jax Releases New Song 'Kickin' & Screamin'

American Idol Season 14 alum Jax is giving fans an early Christmas present with the release of "Kickin' & Screamin'" from her forthcoming EP, Funny.

The track, co-written and produced by Colin Louis Dieden and Ruffian, is an upbeat dance track that shows off the East Brunswick, New Jersey, native's rap skills.

"I loved being in the studio for this one,'" she said. "We had just as much of a party as the song sounds. Colin Dieden is such an awesome friend and artist. It's always a blast recording with him and the crew out in LA."

Jax is performing Monday night (Dec. 12) at the Easton, Pa., Christmas Tree Lighting in the Centre Square as part of their free holiday festivities presented by JD Sarantakos from Mindfreak. She is also set to kick start the New Year in New York City on Jan. 10 at Bar 9, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The the 20-year old singer--who was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease in April, and underwent surgery to remove her thyroid after 12 of 18 tumors were diagnosed as cancerous--will release Funny, her debut EP, independently on January 27, 2017. The tracks, all written post Idol, include co-writers/producers Colin Louis Dieden (from The Mowgli's), Ruffian (Selena Gomez, Zedd), Larzz Principato (Halsey) and Nick Marsh (Chris Brown)." The EP is available for pre-order on iTunes.
