Hans Zimmer

Famed film composer Hans Zimmer sought out some of today’s greatest musicians to work on re-imagined songs for his new album The Classics, due to be released on Jan. 13. In an exclusive premiere with Billboard, violinist Lindsey Stirling takes on a remake of the “Main Theme" from the 2008 blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises.

“I have always loved Hans Zimmer’s work,” Stirling said in a statement to Billboard. "There have been several times I've been writing a song and I've thought, 'What would Hans do?' He has a gift for making things sound magical.”

The track list is full of Zimmer’s greatest works, including themes from films such as Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King and Inception, and includes artists such as 2CELLOS, Leona Lewis and Internet sensations The Piano Guys.
