Blink-182 - "She's Out Of Her Mind"

Veteran pop-punk outfit Blink-182 is back after a five-year hiatus, with their seventh full-length offering further showcasing a "if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it" mentality that continues to work in the group's favor. With "She's Out Of Her Mind," the second official single off of their new album, California, out today (July 1), the trio delivers a pleasantly familiar track, transporting fans back to their Enema Of The State glory days, while also successfully securing their place as a force to be reckoned with in 2016. The single incorporates every element that makes Blink a fan-favorite, utilizing a tried-and-true formula to recreate their signature sound in a way both new and old listeners alike can appreciate. Considering it's not their first time at the rodeo, with over two decades in the game, the 3-piece is honing the energy that Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba brings to the group's dynamic while also nodding to the timeless components of what makes the pop-punk group so enjoyable.

Tayler Buono - "Technically Single"

Rising pop artist Tayler Buono's latest offering "Technically Single" is an alluring introduction to her music. After her cover of Justin Bieber's "Sorry" hit over 4 million views on YouTube, her burgeoning fan base has been eagerly waiting for the incredible talent to release some original music. Over bouncy production with the occasional down-tempo moment helping frame her vocals, the Nashville-based singer walks listeners through the all-too-relatable territory of feeling emotionally unavailable while also being torn between putting oneself out there romantically and fighting whatever is holding one back. The track comes following the 22-year-old musician being recruited by the camp managing Sam Hunt, helping Buono to deservedly level up her career, as she continues to captivate audiences with her refreshingly authentic perspective and stunning voice.

Maxwell - "Fingers Crossed"

Today marks both a celebration and a milestone, as staple R&B crooner Maxwell sets free his first new album in seven years. blackSUMMERS’night aptly sequels his project BLACKsummers’night, and is a 12-track compilation of the distinctive styling for which the neo-soul ringleader has long been known. Credited with helping to shape and nurture the subgenre in the late '90s, alongside the likes of D'Angelo and Erykah Badu, Maxwell builds on top of musical influences from the past in order to effortlessly give them new life, much like he successfully has throughout his entire career. The iconic musician lives up to his legacy, showing off his reputed talents on his track "Fingers Crossed." The fifth single released in advance of his highly-anticipated album, the soulful ballad brings together his signature soft vocals and lush instrumentation, casually proving Maxwell has always been fully in control of the emotional and laid-back vibe he orchestrates. In celebration of his new project, we are honoring the neo-soul mastermind with a featured This Is: Maxwell playlist, as well as an Are & Be takeover, happily inviting the impassioned musician to lead the way into a peaceful and pleasantly soundtrack-ed weekend.

Pierce Fulton - "Make Me Blue"

As Pierce Fulton navigates through electronic waters, he creates different waves that allow him to dance his way into pop territory and back out again, all without getting lost along the way. By taking his genuine desire and intention to create innovative dance music, Fulton's production thrives on incorporating traditional instruments and flipping them to create sounds curiously familiar yet still divergent. The Vermont-born musician today shares "Make Me Blue," the second track off of his forthcoming Borrowed Lives EP, due out July 22nd. The project marks Fulton's first time handling the singing, writing and production duties entirely unassisted and if "Make Me Blue" is any indication, he embraces the challenge with veteran ease, especially considering that during the creation of the project, he was combating injuries such as a punctured lung and broken ribs. From the echoed vocal-effects aiding the catchy chorus to the haunting guitar riffs woven into the mix, "Make Me Blue" is another strong contribution from the 24-year-old.

Darius Rucker - "If I Told You"

Rounding out this week’s NMF is Darius Rucker with his newest release as a solo artist, titled "If I Told You." Considering the former Hootie & The Blowfish frontman has spent the past three decades perfecting his craft as a singer-songwriter, it’s no surprise he delivers yet another slam dunk. The track marks the first taste of his forthcoming country album, the fifth in his catalog, as well as helps solidify his transition from rock to R&B to country was a decision continuing to serve both him and his fans well. Through introspective storytelling lyrics, the seasoned musician reflects on topics such as love, risk-taking and self-awareness, all while wondering, “Could you love me anyway?” The song exposes an honest vulnerability relatable at any age, with Rucker guiding us through with wisdom stronger than any insecurity.
