The season finale of the 2016 election on Tuesday culminated in business magnate and Republican nominee Donald Trump becoming the 45th president of the United States. As reactions continue to fly across social media and network programming, TV personality/philanthropist Ellen DeGeneres also weighed in, focusing instead on the differences that have helped make America stronger.

"I believe we can all come together because if you take away the labels, you realize we're far more alike than we are different," offered DeGeneres, who wore a gray sweatshirt with the word "love" stitched on it.

The Ellen host also infused her signature wit in the clip, cracking jokes about showers, Netflix bingeing and "people who leave their shopping carts in the middle of their parking spot." She even showed a montage of cute animals from different species bonding, but at the heart of her message was a positive note that any political party should get hip to.

"What I'm trying to say is that we have so much in common, our differences actually make us stronger," she continued. "We need to have the kindness and respect for one another."
