US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama dance along with children performing Michael Jackson'n Thriller in the East Room at the White House during a Halloween event in Washington, DC on Oct. 31, 2016.

President Obama encouraged kids to go nuts on candy at the White House Halloween party and eat as much sweet stuff as they want. Hosting Washington-area children and their families on Monday (Oct. 31) for their last Halloween bash at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Obama told the 4,000 lucky trick-or-treaters, "It's great to see you guys. We hope you have a great time today. You guys all look... scary or cool or whatever you're trying to be... awesome. You look awesome. And we hope you have a great time."

And in a note to the parents in the room, Obama gave an executive order saying it was okay to ignore First Lady Michelle Obama's healthy eating tips for one day. "And, in fact, the more candy, the later you eat the candy the better," he said with a smile. "Because I think that you being up all night with a sugar rush is exactly what they're looking for."

And then the coolest First Couple in modern history did something no President and First Lady have ever done before: they tried to recreate the dance from Michael Jackson's Thriller

So, do the Obama's hand out full-sized candy bars? According to CNN, this year's goodie bags included cookies, M&Ms, kettle corn and fruit bars.
